Convention is almost here!

The AFL is looking forward to hosting our more than 300 delegates, speakers and guests.

 

This year’s convention theme is ‘Next Alberta: Choosing our Future”. We believe this is the perfect theme as we celebrate the work of the Albertan labour movement, and map out the priorities for working people in the future.

In 2019, working Albertans are confronted with a massive challenge: the global energy transformation. This transformation will have a profound impact on our provincial economy, our public services, and our livelihoods as workers.

Now is the time to think bigger and to make a plan for the future. Our upcoming convention will do just that. On Sunday, we will take the time to hear from speakers from other jurisdictions, before diving in to our plan for action here in Alberta over the coming years!

For those of you attending the conference, this is what you need to know: 

REGISTRATION

Registration will take place in the Macleod foyer of the Calgary Telus Convention Centre  from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Wednesday, May 1st and from 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Thursday, May 2nd. Once convention starts, late registration is in the convention office (Macleod E1).

DIGITALLY FRIENDLY

The AFL is making our conventions more digitally friendly. The secure content on the convention website is only accessible to delegates. In order to be allowed access, you will need to use an individual email address (not a general or union email address) to create a personal login. There may be a delay in access as we confirm your delegate registration. To login please go to click here For those delegates who requested printed delegate materials, copies of the briefs will be included in your convention binder.

ORIENTATION FOR FIRST-TIME DELEGATES

There will be an orientation session, for first-time delegates on Thursday, May 2nd from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. in Macleod Hall pre-function space of the Calgary Telus Convention Centre. Please bring your convention kit with you.
